ABOUT US
The Young Professional Cameroonian Network (YPCN) was founded in October 2003. From the outset, the main objective was to start up a network of young professional Cameroonians in London and the UK and in doing so provide a forum for people who share the same cultural heritage to network, assist in our mutual career development, discuss relevant issues and socialise.
The YPCN meets on the 1st Sunday of each month and our meetings are a mix of guest speakers, debates and social events. Through our monthly meeting we seek to establish an effective network of young Cameroonian professionals and also to encourage personal development and socialising in a relaxed and informal environment.
The YPCN’s aim is to actively participate in the economic and social advancement of the Cameroonian community in the UK and to act as a bridge between aspiring Cameroonian professionals and established professionals.
Our primary objective is to be an action-based networking association and to this end we have implemented structures and embarked on several projects, which will help us to achieve these goals.
One such project is Lerewa, Journal of the YPCN, our yearly publication. Lerewa is the Bamoun word for “book” and we hope that through Lerewa we will be able to share our professional experiences and knowledge with a wider audience and to “educate” the community at large about different professional fields, career options and other areas of interest.
The YPCN was officially launched on 6th November 2004 and is rapidly building a reputation as an action based association of young Cameroonian professionals.
